Dr. Anastasios D. Kanellopoulos MD., as of September 2008 is the Head Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon of Iaso Children’s Hospital, in Athens, Greece.

MEDICAL AND POSTGRADUATE TRAINING

He graduated on 1989 from the Medical School of the University of Athens.

After completion of his Orthopedic residency training in Greece he was accepted as a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Orthopedics, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, TN, USA, on February 1995.

On August 1997 he carried on with his training as a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Orthopedics at Duke University Medical Center, at Durham, NC, USA.

He completed his training in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada, as a Clinical Fellow in Pediatric Orthopedics .

PREVIOUS POSTS

On September 2000 he was appointed as a Consultant Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgeon, at KAT Hospital in Athens ,Greece.

On March 2005 he was appointed as a Lecturer in Pediatric Orthopedics at the 1st Orthopaedic Department of the Medical School of the University of Athens. He resigned from this post on March 2013.

MAIN CLINICAL INTERESTS

Orthopaedic Trauma, Cerebral Palsy and Neuromuscular Conditions in Children, Deformity Correction and Bone Lengthening, Management of foot deformities in children.

Member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.

Member of the Piedmont Orthopaedic Society.
